My little man was born 08/04/10 weighing in at a cute 6lbs15oz!
The first feed was…..well …..a little difficult!I panicked just slightly every time he got near the boob.I found it took try after try for him to latch on but……once it happened it was well…….simply perfect 🙂
I knew I was gonna work really hard at it even though it was so hard I kept going!I took things day by day even though I was actually in a lot of pain:( I thought about how good I was being to my baby boy even tho I was in excruciating pain. The best tip I can give about the first days of breastfeeding is to take it day by day and keep a diary labeling days you’ve got through or even do a countdown up to 30 days (may sound like a prison sentence but I actually did this lol!)
Once you get to 6 weeks you really do feel a lot more comfortable with the feeding and the pain was gone by then too.
Another problem I had during the first 6 months was oversupply of milk so I was leaking all the time (even with breast pads I recommend taking a spare top or 2 out with you!)
I have rather large breasts they were balloons even before I had a baby at a whopping 34g!They are now 36J and I found m&s maternity bras were the best ones!
Next on the agenda………..biting….. argh!!!
Pinching my sons nose shut and shouting no worked he only ever did it 5 times which isn’t too bad!
I have now been breastfeeding for 16 months and it is a lot easier. My baby has never had a bottle I have saved tons of money and I can say it is actually really easy 😉
I feel extremely blessed to have been able to supply my baby with such great nourishing stuff! I also feel it has given us a fantastic bond and understanding of each other and I will carry on as long as he wants to!
